Interior design is constantly evolving along with the world. Every year introduces fresh innovations, inspirations, and trends that influence our perception and experience of our living spaces. There is a distinction between having a concept in mind and what you ultimately achieve. Sometimes if you don't have experience with the functionality of the design idea you can make a mistake that will cost you either financially or with the enjoyment of your home later on. At Licari Tile & Home we will help you select the perfect products for your new project.

Here are our best design tips of 2024:

Well-being

Wellness is about more than adding a green wall; it’s a holistic approach to the well-being of humans. It requires intentionality, rigor and follow-through. One way of achieving wellness in interior design is to create multi-functional spaces.

Due to the increasing prevalence of remote work and the merging of work and personal life, there is a rising need for adaptable and versatile spaces. Creative approaches are available to enhance space utilization, enabling even compact homes to accommodate all essential areas when properly designed. The emphasis is on maximizing practicality while maintaining a stylish appeal, addressing the requirements of contemporary living. Licari Tile & Home offers both online shopping and in our beautiful showroom located in Los Angeles.

Optimize the Use of Natural Light and Color Combinations

Another interior design trend that focuses on enhancing the well-being of individuals is the emphasis on optimizing natural lighting in living spaces. Designers, along with psychologists, are more aware of the significant influence that natural light has on both the visual appeal and practicality of a room. By incorporating creative architectural features like large windows, skylights, and light wells, spaces are crafted to blend effortlessly with the surroundings, promoting a feeling of balance and well-being. Let us help you design the perfect space, whether it be a kitchen, bathroom, living room, patio/pool area. Any room and any size project we are here to help.

Incorporate Genuine Materials

Authenticity is a significant concept to consider. Reflect on what authenticity signifies to your potential homebuyers. It is not a one-size-fits-all solution applicable universally. There is a growing recognition of authenticity, and individuals can instinctively sense it. Incorporate natural woods or establish a tangible link to nature through large windows showcasing the outdoors. Alternatively, design an indoor space that mimics the outdoors, providing an outdoor-like experience indoors. This can be achieved with natural stone, marble, granite, wood accent panels, plants, and the colors selected.

Open Concept

The open concept today differs from what it was five years ago. When I'm designing a space I always consider the lifestyle of the homeowner. Is it an empty nester in Florida or a family in New Jersey? Is it a home they plan on stating in for a few years and then selling? is it a forever home? The first step is to assess their living habits and how long they plan to live there, then you can move on to discussing the open concept. You must also know which areas will be public and which will be private areas of the house.

Kitchens

Current kitchen trends are moving towards a simple and sleek design with minimal decorations and a classic look. More emphasis is being placed on integrating the kitchen's design with the overall architecture of the home. So if the home is Spanish style then we will use Terracotta, and pavers etc. Considering the kitchen as the heart of the house, the island is considered the heart of the kitchen. The popularity of curved designs is increasing as they help break the monotony of straight lines. Additionally, incorporating storage options, beverage stations, and intricate details wherever possible is recommended.

Textured Surfaces

Terracotta, limewash and herringbone floors are some of the textured textiles we’re seeing this year. Terracotta is a warm earthy gritty texture and color.  Spanish style homes are very popular as well as the Itailan Villa style is making a huge come back. Travertine, limestone,

slate, and other natural stone is definitely making it's way back into the designs. We definitely think these are the best interior design tips for 2024 and would love to help you incorporate them into your upcoming projests.
